CARTA BUS SYSTEM
Public transit connects the city. The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) provides affordable bus service throughout the city and surrounding areas. It’s a practical option for getting around Charleston, especially if you’re exploring beyond the downtown core. Routes and schedules vary, so checking ahead will help you plan efficiently.
FREE DART TROLLEYS
Take free rides around historic Charleston. The DASH Trolley is a free, convenient way to get around downtown Charleston. With multiple routes covering popular areas, attractions, and shopping districts, it’s an easy option for short trips when you don’t feel like walking. Hop on, hop off, and explore more of the city without worrying about parking.
